CNY!

As the saying goes''time flies like an arrow'' , the Chinese New Year holidays are over. I have to wait one more year for the next Chinese New Year holidays.

Last Sunday (on Chinese New Year's eve) I went to my paternal grandmother's house for our reunion dinner. The steamboat was in the middle of the table and everybody was snatching for the delicious ingredients in the steamboat. It was literally "steam"-boat, as everyone was perspiring while drinking the hot soup. Nevertheless, it was a sumptuous meal complemented by the taste of sweet homemade chrysanthemum tea - how wonderful!!!

On the first day of Chinese New Year, my family and I went to my paternal grandmother's house again at about 12pm to visit her and to exchange oranges. To my delight, I received quite a lot of red packets(ang bao) this year. It was rude to peep into the ang baos, so I only assessed them by their thickness and I kept thinking about how much I got. At about 3pm, we went down to our maternal grandparents' house to visit them and to exchange oranges and receive more ang baos. During our visit to our maternal grandparent's house,(at about 4.30pm to 6.30 pm)there was supposed to be a solar eclipse but we didn't notice any difference in the sky. My sister and I kept on looking out of the window to check if the sun was blocked by the moon but we only saw clouds blocking the sun.We were quite disappointed.

The second day was the busiest day of the three. My sister's Muslim friends, Chinese friends, Japanese friend, German friend and all our relatives came to our house. We needed three rounds of steamboat to let everybody eat! I talked to my cousins, played Xbox with them and did the same with my sister's friends. Now her friends are my friends too!

This Chinese New Year has been a wonderful one. I really can't wait for the next one!!! =)

I wish all my readers a happy, healthy and wealthy Ox year!
